The role of Manager, Fleet & Facility Operations - SSA is a pivotal position within US Foods, responsible for overseeing the comprehensive management and maintenance of fleet vehicles and facilities. Job Requirements
- 5 years of facilities management experience
- 3 years working with refrigeration systems within cold chain distribution
- Proven leadership experience managing maintenance teams, budgets, and vendor contracts
- Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, USDA, FDA, GMP, and other regulatory compliance requirements
- Proficiency with CMMS and basic data analytics
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated knowledge of DOT, Hazmat, and OSHA regulations
- Working knowledge of ammonia and Freon systems
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations and governing bodies
- Working knowledge of all applicable building, life safety, and fire protection standards and codes.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in facility operations, engineering, construction, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
- Proven leadership experience managing maintenance teams, budgets, and vendor contracts
- Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, USDA, FDA, GMP, and other regulatory compliance requirements
- Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and basic data analytics
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- Demonstrated knowledge of DOT, Hazmat, and OSHA regulations
- Working knowledge of ammonia and Freon systems and environmental regulations
- Knowledge of building, life safety, and fire protection standards and codes
- Certifications such as Thermo King, Ammonia Operator, PSM/RMP, and CMMS training
- Valid driver’s license with a good record and ability to travel between sites as needed.
Job Duties
- Direct and monitor associates responsible for building, grounds, sanitation, refrigeration systems, power industrial equipment, and security maintenance using tracking software and preventative maintenance schedules
- Oversee the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of refrigeration systems to ensure temperature control standards are met for perishable products
- Manage, assign, and oversee all facility operations activities and capital projects ensuring timely and quality completion
- Lead to create a culture of safety prioritizing injury-free operations
- Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate staff performance, administer discipline, and maintain strong associate relations
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with third-party vendors ensuring compliance with insurance and service agreements
- Oversee the selection, purchase, utilization, and inventory control of company assets including equipment and refrigeration units
- Partner with Quality Assurance and sanitation teams to ensure compliance with food safety regulations
- Ensure all company vehicles are maintained properly with required documentation and certifications
- Coordinate with drivers and service providers for vehicle repairs and maintenance
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations including conducting audits and maintaining documentation
- Partner with the Safety Department to deliver training, investigate accidents, and lead emergency response planning
- Coordinate with warehouse and transportation teams to support high-volume receiving, storage, and shipping activities
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
