Job Description

The National Safety Council (NSC) is America's premier nonprofit safety advocate dedicated to eliminating the leading causes of preventable injuries and deaths. Founded with a mission to save lives and promote safety from the workplace to anyplace, NSC operates through comprehensive leadership, research, education, and advocacy programs. As a well-established organization committed to making a positive impact on public health and safety, NSC serves a pivotal role in addressing unintentional injuries and fatalities by focusing on key areas where these incidents are most prevalent. The council is recognized nationally for advancing safety standards, providing critical resources, and collaborating with communities and industries to foster safer environments across the United States.

Currently, NSC is seeking a First Aid Training Coordinator to be an integral part of its mission to enhance safety awareness and preparedness. This remote position reports to the First Aid Training team, playing a crucial role in the development, coordination, and delivery of First Aid training products. The First Aid Training Coordinator will work closely with both internal teams and external partners to ensure the smooth operation and effective delivery of safety training initiatives. This role is vital to maintaining high standards of quality and support for all training-related activities, including coordination of training logistics, customer service, product reporting, and communication efforts. The position offers an hourly rate of $28.85 with flexible work arrangements and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a life-saving cause.

The First Aid Training Coordinator’s responsibilities encompass a wide range of project coordination and administrative functions. These activities include preparing status reports and presentations on First Aid training programs, coordinating product-related initiatives to meet deadlines and objectives, managing training material distribution, and supporting event logistics for training sessions and meetings. Administrative duties include maintaining databases and files, providing operational assistance to the First Aid team, handling correspondence and inquiries, and supporting instructors and customers to ensure satisfaction and efficiency in training delivery.

This role requires an individual with exceptional organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams, and experience working with project management tools. A solid understanding of First Aid training products and operational processes is essential, alongside the ability to resolve routine issues independently while escalating more complex problems appropriately. The ideal candidate will have at least a college degree and a minimum of three years’ relevant experience in safety promotion, community education, or training. Being a remote position, the First Aid Training Coordinator provides flexibility while contributing to NSC’s impactful mission.

Beyond the critical responsibilities of this role, NSC offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support its employees’ health, well-being, and work-life balance. Benefits include at least 20 paid time off days accrued in the first year, 11 paid holidays, flexible work arrangements, comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, flexible spending accounts for medical and dependent care, a 403(b) and Roth 403(b) retirement plan with an employer match up to 6%, reimbursable training opportunities, and a casual dress policy. NSC emphasizes creating a respectful and inclusive work environment and supports employees in or seeking recovery from substance use disorders through confidential resources and reasonable accommodations.

The hiring process at NSC is designed to allow candidates to showcase their skills and passion for the role through a structured assessment and interview sequence. This approach ensures a thorough evaluation of candidates' fit and potential contributions. NSC is an equal opportunity employer, celebrating diversity and fostering a culture where every individual’s journey and contributions are valued. Joining NSC offers a unique opportunity to be part of a nationally respected organization committed to saving lives and promoting safety on a broad scale.
