Job Description
Grand Canyon National Park Lodges is a premier hospitality operator located in one of the United States' most iconic natural landmarks, the Grand Canyon South Rim. This company manages six hotels, seven retail shops, and numerous dining facilities nestled within the historic Grand Canyon Village. Known for their dedication to providing exceptional hospitality, Grand Canyon National Park Lodges strives to create warm and memorable experiences for every visitor who comes to witness the awe-inspiring beauty of the Grand Canyon, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The company takes immense pride in its role as a steward of this national park, ensuring that operations are environmentally responsible and that guests receive the highest standard of service during their stay.
As part of the Xanterra Travel Collection, the primary authorized concessionaire at the Grand Canyon South Rim, this establishment offers a dynamic and engaging work environment for those passionate about outdoor beauty and top-tier hospitality. The company culture emphasizes community, environmental stewardship, and professional growth, all set against the backdrop of spectacular natural surroundings. The South Rim location is particularly special, offering employees unique opportunities to live, work, and explore amid stunning scenery. This includes benefits such as low-cost dormitory-style employee housing, on-site cafeteria meals, free laundry services, shuttle transport, and internet access, which makes working here both convenient and enjoyable.
The role of a Fine Dining Server is integral to the Food & Beverage team and involves delivering expedient, efficient, and courteous service to guests in a fine dining environment. This full-time year-round position offers an attractive compensation package, including an hourly wage starting at $12.15 plus tips, leading to a total earning potential between $32.07 and $43.14 per hour, depending on the exact workplace within the park. The typical schedule is 40 hours per week spread over five days, which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays. Fine Dining Servers are expected to be knowledgeable about all menu items, including specials, ingredient details, and presentation methods, and they must possess a refined understanding of wine and fine dining service etiquette.
Beyond typical serving duties, employees are encouraged to work collaboratively with fellow servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to create a seamless and memorable dining experience. They also play a critical role in upholding food safety and sanitation standards per ServSafe guidelines and complying with state and company policies, particularly concerning alcohol service and handling guest payments. The company fosters a supportive environment with ongoing training, career development programs, and wellness initiatives, ensuring employees are equipped for success and upward mobility within the travel and hospitality industry. Perks such as a free national park pass, discounted mule rides, and access to fitness and recreation facilities add a unique dimension to the benefits of working here, offering a lifestyle that merges career development with extraordinary outdoor adventure.
