Job Description

TIAA is a distinguished financial services organization with a legacy spanning over 100 years, committed to securing the retirement futures of millions, particularly educators. Founded with the mission to help educators retire with dignity, TIAA has grown into a market-leading retirement company powered by world-class asset management. Unlike many legacy financial firms, TIAA fights diligently for its clients and the broader American public, ensuring that financial security remains accessible for all. The company stands at the forefront of retirement solutions, combining tradition with innovation to meet evolving client needs in an ever-changing financial landscape.

TIAA's commitment to excellence is reflected not only in the services it offers but also in the career opportunities it provides. Currently, the company is seeking passionate and professional Financial Services Consultants to join their National Contact Center (NCC). This role is a FINRA Registered position primarily focused on handling inbound calls from individual participants. Consultants assist clients by providing options related to retirement plans, after-tax investments, insurance products, payment flexibility, investment choices, and comprehensive financial education. While this position involves communication through call center services, it transcends traditional roles, allowing employees to have a meaningful impact on thousands of lives annually.

The Financial Services Consultant role at TIAA offers a unique career path that can lead to diverse opportunities within the financial services industry. Over 1600 associates have begun in this position, later advancing to careers in sales, learning, talent management, and finance. The company is committed to associate success by providing benefits designed to ensure financial security, including an industry-leading pension program and family support benefits. Flexible hybrid work options and continuous learning support are integral, with the company offering funding, coaching, and resources to help employees earn essential FINRA licenses such as Series 6, 7, and 63 if they are not already licensed.

Ideal candidates for the Financial Services Consultant position possess a strong customer service mindset, professionalism, reliability, and high-quality standards. The role requires collaboration, respectfulness, inclusivity, accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work well within a structured operational environment. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as is the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and navigate various business systems simultaneously. Compassion, empathy, and a learner’s mindset with an openness to coaching are vital qualities for this role. Experience in banking, call centers, customer service or sales is helpful but not mandatory.

The position does not involve providing financial advice but focuses on educating participants and offering services that help clients understand and optimize their financial plans. The company’s culture emphasizes innovation, accountability, and winning together as one team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. With flexible hours operating Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm Central Time, this career opportunity encourages work-life balance and professional growth.

Compensation is competitive and includes a base pay rate reflective of relevant experience and market data, combined with an annual bonus targeting 15% of base pay and eligible earnings. The potential total compensation ranges from $47,000 to $66,700 annually. The role demands a hybrid presence in the office and requires candidates to successfully pass employment screening, including a credit check. Interviews are conducted in person, illustrating the company’s commitment to thorough and respectful hiring practices.

Joining TIAA means becoming part of a mission-driven team dedicated to championing people, client obsession, integrity, ownership, and collective success. With comprehensive benefit programs that address health, wellness, and financial security, TIAA supports associates in achieving their best lives both professionally and personally. This is an exciting opportunity for those ready to start or build a rewarding career in the financial services industry, empowered by a company with a lasting impact and a dedication to excellence.
