Job Description
Edward Jones is a leading financial services firm recognized as a Fortune 500 company, renowned for putting people first. Established over a century ago, Edward Jones serves more than 9 million clients through a vast network of 20,000 financial advisors across the United States and Canada. Privately owned, the company prioritizes client interests over shareholder returns, fostering an environment where associates are genuinely valued and respected. This commitment to people and partnership is the foundation of Edward Jones’s success and reputation in the financial industry.
This inclusive, flexible, and innovative organization attracts and nurtures talent by inspiring performance excellence and a strong sense of belonging. Associates at Edward Jones experience a supportive culture where they are seen, heard, and empowered to grow professionally and personally. The firm’s dedicated efforts to create a diverse workplace have been recognized in their Purpose, Inclusion, and Citizenship initiatives, emphasizing continuous learning, collaboration, and community impact.
The financial advisor role at Edward Jones offers a unique and rewarding career opportunity for driven professionals seeking to make a positive difference. As a financial advisor, you will partner closely with clients to understand their long-term financial aspirations, including retirement planning, wealth building, estate strategies, and funding education. You will cultivate and grow your own practice supported by a robust branch team, home office resources, and regional advisors.
The firm has more offices in the U.S. and Canada than any other investment company, serving over eight million clients. This extensive network provides advisors with unparalleled resources and stability, powered by a century of trusted history. Edward Jones values advisors’ diverse backgrounds and experiences, creating an environment where different viewpoints drive better client outcomes.
Your role will involve developing deep client relationships to accelerate trust and deliver personalized financial strategies. You will lead and coordinate branch team efforts to ensure a seamless and high-quality client experience aligned with firm policies and regulatory guidelines. Advisors actively contribute to their branch’s business plans and foster a culture of mutual trust, respect, and accountability.
Edward Jones is committed to supporting your success from day one with paid training, competitive salary during the initial years, and a fully equipped branch office located within the community. Additionally, you will benefit from branch support personnel and a wide-reaching support network encompassing regional and home office teams, enabling you to focus primarily on serving clients.
One of the company’s strongest advantages is the open earning potential. As advisors develop their book of business, compensation grows through commissions, profit sharing, and incentive travel programs. The firm promotes a flexible work-life balance and continuous professional development, allowing advisors to meet both personal and professional goals effectively.
To become a financial advisor at Edward Jones, candidates typically have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in financial services. Licenses such as the SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 are required, with firm-sponsored training and financial support available for registration and licensing during the paid study period. Edward Jones fosters an environment where associates continuously develop their expertise and maintain licences through ongoing education.
This position comes with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, disability, basic life insurance, and additional voluntary benefits. Financial advisors may also be eligible for 401(k) retirement plans, health savings accounts, paid sick leave, paid time off, bonuses, and profit sharing, along with access to employee assistance and parental leave programs.
Joining Edward Jones means becoming part of an organization that not only invests in your career but also believes in the lasting impact you can have on your clients and community. If you are motivated by building meaningful relationships and delivering tailored financial solutions, a career as a financial advisor here offers a promising pathway to professional fulfillment and success.
