The Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows is a prestigious luxury hotel located atop the scenic bluffs overlooking Santa Monica Beach, one of Southern California's most beautiful coastal areas. Now, the hotel is seeking a dedicated Food & Beverage Manager to join its dynamic team. This leadership role reports directly to the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage and is integral to maintaining the high service standards the hotel is known for. The successful candidate will lead and manage the entire team at FIG Restaurant, ensuring excellence in all aspects of the department's operations. This includes overseeing daily dining services, motivating staff, and creating an inviting atmosphere for guests. The Food & Beverage Manager will also act as the main presence on the dining room floor, engaging with guests to handle concerns promptly and professionally, thereby enhancing the overall dining experience. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience in food and beverage leadership roles
- Experience with restaurant POS systems
- Proven track record in managing a team
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus
Job Qualifications
- Previous food and beverage leadership experience required
- Previous Point of Sale System experience required
- Familiarity with the local Los Angeles restaurant scene and trends required
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in food service
Job Duties
- Lead and manage the FIG Restaurant team in all aspects of the department
- Ensure service standards are followed consistently
- Act as the main character of the dining room and maintain a frequent presence on the dining room floor
- Handle guest concerns quickly and professionally
- Motivate and develop staff to improve performance and guest satisfaction
- Coordinate with kitchen and other departments to ensure smooth operations
- Monitor and control costs to meet budget targets
