Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in safety engineering or related field preferred
  • One to three years of directly related experience in operations and safety
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and lead a team to achieve goals and budgets
  • Knowledge of OSHA, FDA, USDA, EPA regulations and applicable state laws
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows applications

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in safety engineering or related field preferred

  • Understanding and applicability of governmental regulations such as OSHA, FDA, USDA, and EPA, as well as applicable state agencies

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications

Job Duties

  • Supervise and ensure compliance with company ramp and employee safety initiatives
  • Partner with CSC leadership regarding employee safety issues, including OSHA, FAA, EPA, DOT, and state regulations
  • Coordinate ramp and employee safety initiatives and measurement systems as set by company and customer
  • Regularly train employees on all employee safety and ramp safety SOPs
  • Supervise daily area and department activities in the CSC
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings
  • Coordinate and ensure that all accidents are investigated and corrective/preventive action is implemented and sustained
  • Partner with CSC leadership to ensure audit readiness
  • Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, and directed
  • Guide, motivate, and develop subordinate employees within human resources policy
  • Participate in coaching the expanded Global Performance System (GPS) process and career development activities
  • Make the companys values and management principles live in the department(s)
  • Participate and support company-sponsored initiatives such as GQS, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety, and CBase
