We are currently seeking a dedicated Field Safety Professional to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in ensuring that safety policies, regulations, and industry standards are strictly adhered to on all job sites, thereby minimizing risks and promoting a safe working environment. The Field Safety Professional will act as the cornerstone of safety operations on the ground, working closely with project managers, supervisors, and field personnel to enforce compliance and implement proactive safety measures.

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for conducting regular safety procedure reviews, identifying potential hazards, and recommending corrective actions to mitigate risks effectively. They will play an integral part in incident investigations, OSHA inquiries, and dispute resolutions, ensuring accurate documentation and fair resolution of safety concerns. This position requires a thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and current industry safety standards, along with certifications such as OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR, and CHST preferred.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and presentation skills, enabling them to provide clear safety guidance and training to various personnel. Strong organizational, critical thinking, and multitasking skills are essential to manage safety audits, risk assessments, and report preparation efficiently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with safety management or training tracking software will be necessary to support documentation and reporting duties.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or extensive experience in the electrical contracting industry preferred
  • Five plus years of experience in safety management within the utility construction or similar industry
  • Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR, CHST) preferred
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards
  • Experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, decision making, and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to use safety management or training tracking software
  • Ability to work in both office and field environments and travel to various job sites as needed

Job Duties

  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, regulations, and standards, including proper use of PPE and safety equipment on-site
  • Conduct regular reviews of safety procedures, adapting and maintaining them to meet regulatory and project-specific requirements
  • Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks
  • Assist in incident investigations, OSHA inquiries, and dispute resolutions to ensure accurate documentation and resolution
  • Work closely with project managers, supervisors, and field personnel to promote a proactive safety culture
  • Stay updated on industry trends, safety developments, and competitor practices to enhance workplace safety standards
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with employees, contractors, customers, and stakeholders to ensure project harmony and collaboration
  • Act as a safety representative in the community, promoting a positive company image and ensuring professional conduct
  • Provide timely and accurate reports as requested by the Safety Supervisor and perform additional duties as assigned
