With a robust team of more than 6,500 dedicated employees, the company operates over 1,800 distribution points, enabling the delivery of over one billion gallons of propane annually. AmeriGas prides itself on fostering a work environment centered on safety, professional growth, and employee well-being, supported by comprehensive benefits and competitive compensation.
The Field Safety Manager (FSM) position at AmeriGas offers an exciting career opportunity for a motivated, safety-focused professional to join the team in a role critical to maintaining and enhancing workplace safety standards. This position entails close collaboration with employees and management across multiple states including Texas, Georgia, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Alabama. The FSM is responsible for co-owning ongoing safety improvements alongside District Managers and Area Directors, aiming to reduce occupational injuries, vehicle incidents, and liability claims. Through conducting audits, delivering technical and professional training, and working directly alongside field employees, the FSM enhances the consistency and effectiveness of safety programs, communication, and compliance.
Significant travel is required for this role, representing up to 80% overnight travel, to effectively oversee safety practices across the region. The FSM reports directly to the Regional Safety Director with a secondary reporting relationship to the respective Area Director, reflecting the position’s integral role within AmeriGas’s safety leadership framework. AmeriGas values leadership in safety, and this role is designed for someone with strong industry knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a solid technical background related to propane systems and safety regulations.
AmeriGas offers an attractive benefits package including exceptional medical, dental, and prescription coverage, 401(k) with company match, company vehicles, laptops, and cell phones, generous paid time off including holidays, tuition reimbursement, and opportunities for career advancement. Additionally, employees benefit from propane discounts, annual performance reviews, salary increases, and a supportive work culture that encourages personal and professional growth. This is a unique chance to join a nationally recognized company known for being a leader in propane distribution and workplace safety, in a role that directly impacts the protection and development of employees and operational efficiency across a wide geographic area.
