Job Description

Vesta Property Services stands as a leader in community management within the state of Florida, boasting a reputable presence of over 25 years in the industry. With an extensive portfolio of more than 800 community management contracts, Vesta has earned its distinction by serving the amenity needs of some of Florida's most prestigious communities. Employing over 1,000 associates, the company has carved a niche as one of Florida's top workplaces, a testament to its commitment to creating an engaging and supportive work environment. At Vesta Property Services, the associates are recognized as the most valuable resource, underpinning the company's ethos of trust and autonomy. It fosters a culture that encourages employees to perform their best work while supporting professional growth through ongoing training, coaching, and consistent feedback. The collaborative culture at Vesta is energized and unified by its core EAGLE PRIDE values, which guide daily operations and employee interactions.

The cook role at Vesta Property Services is pivotal in maintaining the high standards of food service upheld by the company. This position is responsible for preparing and directing the preparation of food that complies rigorously with all sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards. The cook's duties also include adhering to established food production programs and procedures, ensuring that all food served meets quality expectations in terms of taste, temperature, appearance, and nutritional compliance. A significant aspect of this role involves the judicious use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize waste and reduce loss, thereby contributing to cost-efficiency and operational sustainability. This job does not involve supervisory responsibilities, focusing instead on meticulous food preparation and kitchen maintenance. Beyond the technical food preparation tasks, the cook is expected to plan food production in alignment with meal serving hours to sustain freshness and quality, maintain clean and orderly workspaces, and ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and maintained. Moreover, the role demands compliance with safety measures including appropriate food storage and handling practices and the accurate completion of daily production records. The physical demands of the role require the ability to stand for long periods and perform activities such as bending, stretching, and reaching, often in a kitchen environment that exposes the employee to heat, steam, fire, and noise. Vesta's commitment to its employees extends beyond the workplace, offering a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401K retirement plans, Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Account, and even a Pet Discount Plan. The company also emphasizes a supportive work culture that includes free counseling sessions, legal advice, professional development opportunities, and an inclusive referral program open to all staff. As part of Vesta Property Services' dedication to a safe working environment, the company strictly enforces a drug-free workplace policy in compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, ensuring the health and security of all associates and company property. Overall, this cook position is ideal for candidates who have prior cooking experience, hold high standards of integrity and reliability, can manage physical demands of kitchen work, and are motivated to contribute to a top workplace culture with a commitment to excellence in food service.
