- graduation from high school or completion of a cooking school program or equivalent practical experience
- minimum of two years of experience in the culinary industry or a related field
- mandatory tuberculosis (tb) clearance card as required by state health regulations

Job Duties
- engage in teamwork and professional interactions with colleagues and superiors
- manage, service, and sanitize kitchen devices like deep fryers, broilers, stoves, steamers, food processors, mixers, slicers, ovens, steam tables, tilt kettles, waffle irons, and flat top grills
- label and rotate food containers to ensure proper storage and food safety
- monitor stock levels, manage freezer inventory, and set up the serving line
- re-stock food items ensuring perishables are labeled and covered
- support strategies to address food cost challenges, manage waste, and prevent losses
- lead and assign duties to other cooks to enhance teamwork and efficiency
- ensure timely resolution of product, personnel, or timing issues
- create daily specials and determine cost and presentation
- assist in meal preparation during days off when needed
- provide training and cross-functional learning for new staff
- oversee kitchen safety practices, manage food allergies, and ensure proper equipment use and temperature control
- follow standardized recipes to prepare meals consistently
- monitor food production to avoid over-preparation
- assist in purchasing and inventory from workstation
- communicate specials and ingredient details to front-of-house
- use guest feedback to improve service
- ensure compliance with Steritech and health department regulations
- operate in multiple kitchen stations proficiently
