Job Description
The hiring establishment is a food and beverage operations entity associated with turnpikes, specializing in fast food and snack bar services. This establishment is committed to delivering quality service to its customers, focusing on efficiency, hospitality, and excellent food preparation. Operating within a fast-paced environment, the company places a strong emphasis on customer interaction and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
The role offered is that of a Fast Food Attendant (FFA), a vital position responsible for supporting all aspects of the fast food/snack bar operations. Reporting directly to the Concept Manager, this is a non-exempt position with a pay rate of $14.00 per hour and eligibility for tips. The Fast Food Attendant will perform a wide array of duties ranging from customer service, food preparation, cooking, and stocking to cleaning and operating the cash register efficiently.
This position demands a multitasker who can serve customers with enthusiasm and accuracy, uphold food quality standards, and maintain clean and organized workspaces. The attendant will greet customers, take orders, suggest additional products for sale, and ensure rapid and precise cash handling. Furthermore, the role involves intricate food preparation tasks such as cooking various meats, fish, vegetables, and handling baking and dough preparation. The attendant must also manage inventory receipt, rotation, and storage, along with sanitizing workstations and kitchen equipment.
The position requires strong interpersonal skills to provide an exceptional guest experience by following the CORE model: maintaining eye contact, smiling, speaking enthusiastically, and staying connected with guests throughout the transaction. This role also expects teamwork and cooperation with colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen functions and the overall success of the food and beverage operations.
Physical demands include standing for long periods, using hands and fingers with dexterity, verbal communication, and the ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds. The job also requires sensory abilities such as taste, smell, and various types of vision including color and depth perception.
In return, the company offers a comprehensive benefit package to eligible full-time employees. Benefits include affordable medical insurance, dental and vision coverage, plus additional voluntary insurance options. The benefits package extends to company-sponsored life insurance, an employee assistance program, competitive paid time off, company holidays, and a 401k retirement plan with a matching option from the company. Employees also enjoy discount programs for travel and entertainment, as well as a meal program available at the location. The position is additionally eligible for overtime pay, overnight differentials, and tips, making it both financially and professionally rewarding for motivated candidates.
