Job Description
The Lenox Hotel is a distinguished independent hotel situated in Boston's renowned Back Bay neighborhood. Known for its rich history dating back to 1900, The Lenox is a landmark celebrated for its distinct character, creativity, and heartfelt hospitality. As a beloved destination for both leisure and business travelers, the hotel prides itself on creating a welcoming atmosphere where guests feel at home. The Lenox distinguishes itself through personalized service, attention to detail, and a commitment to surprising and delighting guests with thoughtful experiences. Its team-centric culture enhances the guest experience, ensuring repeat visits and lasting memories.
Within The Lenox Hotel, the Food & Beverage Manager plays a pivotal role in upholding the venue’s reputation for exceptional hospitality. This dynamic role involves overseeing three uniquely styled outlets — Sweeney’s on Boylston, an authentic Irish pub known for its lively atmosphere; The Irving at The Lenox, an intimate cocktail bar that channels a sense of intrigue and classic charm; and Willow & Ivy, offering an elevated New England-inspired American cuisine experience led by Executive Chef Daniel Kenney. Alongside managing the daily operations of these dining venues, the Food & Beverage Manager also supervises the hotel’s 5,000 square-foot banquet facilities, which host a variety of corporate and social events including weddings.
The Food & Beverage Manager is entrusted with leading a diverse team through effective mentorship and motivation, fostering a collaborative environment to ensure staff deliver exceptional guest service consistently. This role demands exceptional organizational skills as well as the ability to coordinate complex schedules and manage labor costs efficiently. The manager functions hands-on, supporting training programs to maintain high knowledge levels of menu offerings, service protocols, and safety regulations among staff.
Critical to the position is the ongoing collaboration with the culinary team to maintain the quality and consistency of the menu offerings, while working closely with the events team to execute flawless special events. The role also involves monitoring guest feedback to proactively address concerns and elevate the overall experience, aiming to drive customer satisfaction and repeat business.
This full-time position offers a competitive salary range between $68,000 and $78,000 annually, complemented by an attractive benefits package. The ideal candidate must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary to meet the demands of hospitality service.
Overall, the Food & Beverage Manager is a key leadership position within The Lenox Hotel, offering the opportunity to shape memorable dining experiences, lead passionate teams, and contribute to the ongoing success of this Boston landmark institution. Candidates with a strong background in hotel or upscale restaurant food and beverage operations, coupled with proven managerial expertise, will thrive in this exciting role.
