Job Description

U-Haul Holding Company, established in 1945, has been a pioneering force in the self-moving industry, providing do-it-yourself movers and their households with reliable moving equipment and storage solutions. With a rich history that dates back to post-World War II, the co-founders L.S. "Sam" Shoen and Anna Mary Carty Shoen recognized a widespread need for affordable, one-way moving equipment across the United States and Canada. Their vision transformed the moving process, making it easier and more cost-effective for families and businesses to relocate. Today, U-Haul is a leader in the moving and storage industry, known for its wide range of services that support mobility and independence.

U-Haul is not just a moving company; it is a culture of health, wellness, and innovation. The company emphasizes employee growth, safety, and work-life balance, offering numerous benefits and opportunities for career advancement. U-Haul remains committed to equal opportunity employment and embraces diversity and inclusion across its various locations.

The role of Facility Housekeeper at U-Haul is an essential position that ensures the company’s facilities maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and employees alike. This is a hands-on, dynamic job that requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Facility Housekeepers are tasked with sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and wiping down various facility areas, including storage units, hallways, restrooms, and elevators. They manage waste disposal, maintain cleaning supply inventories, and take initiative in requesting materials as needed.

This position offers immediate employment with the unique advantage of getting paid on the very day you start, alongside eligibility for new hire bonuses. The role provides stable employment with valuable on-the-job training and opportunities for career growth within the company. U-Haul values self-starters who are willing to learn and have a keen sense of organization.

Beyond the immediate responsibilities, working at U-Haul as a Facility Housekeeper means joining a supportive team atmosphere where health, safety, and wellness are prioritized. The work environment involves certain physical demands and moderate risks, such as handling moving equipment and utilizing protective gear when necessary. The company promotes health-conscious policies, including restrictions on nicotine usage in certain states, to foster a healthier workplace.

With extensive benefits including health insurance, dental and vision plans, life insurance, legal aid, various discounts, paid time off, retirement plans, and employee assistance programs, U-Haul ensures that its employees are supported both professionally and personally.
