Job Description

Zipline is the world’s largest and most experienced drone delivery service, dedicated to revolutionizing logistics on a global scale. Founded with a mission to provide equitable access to food, medicine, and essential goods, Zipline operates an autonomous logistics system that delivers critical supplies rapidly and reliably. Its innovative drone technology, while a core component, represents just 15 percent of the complex system that enables seamless delivery across four continents. Zipline’s extensive reach includes millions of deliveries, ranging from blood, vaccines, and medical supplies to food and retail products. The company serves some of the largest healthcare systems, governments, retailers, and global businesses worldwide, who rely on Zipline to save lives, reduce emissions, and increase economic opportunity.

Zipline’s infrastructure is designed not only to strengthen supply chains but also to reduce congestion and return valuable time to people. Having safely flown more than 140 million commercial autonomous miles, Zipline stands at the forefront of redefining access to healthcare, consumer products, and food globally. The company thrives on practical problem solvers who embrace real-world challenges and rapid growth. Their teams are driven by building impactful systems that scale the future of logistics, solving tough problems from first principles and accomplishing milestones at record-breaking speeds.

This Facilities Coordinator position at Zipline is an essential onsite role based in South San Francisco, with occasional travel to Half Moon Bay, focused on ensuring the productivity, safety, and comfort of Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing teams. The role supports operational excellence by managing the facilities to maximize uptime and maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment that reflects Zipline’s company culture. As a Facilities Coordinator, you will actively contribute to the smooth functioning of building maintenance, vendor relationships, and facilities operations. Your ability to proactively identify and resolve issues will be critical in maintaining high standards while supporting Zipline’s ambitious delivery operations.

Responsibilities in this role include managing a range of facilities-related tasks such as overseeing building technicians and external vendors, coordinating maintenance and repairs, implementing service contracts, and managing hazardous materials compliance. The Facilities Coordinator evaluates current and future infrastructure needs, recommending improvements and preventive programs to sustain and enhance facility functionality. This position also involves close collaboration with external consultants and contractors for capital improvement projects, ensuring all documentation and regulatory compliance paperwork is maintained accurately and up to date.

Ideal candidates possess over five years of facilities management experience, preferably in light industrial, commercial, aviation, or retail settings, and have demonstrated success in handling complex, multi-site environments. Strong organizational skills, communication abilities, and a proactive mindset are crucial for thriving in this fast-paced role. Proficiency with productivity and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Office, Slack, Google Workspace, and Jira is expected, along with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and the willingness to travel up to 10 percent as needed.

The starting cash compensation for this role ranges from $120,000 to $140,000 annually, with final pay dependent on experience and qualifications. Additional compensation components may include equity, performance bonuses, sales incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package covering medical, dental, vision insurance, and paid time off. Zipline is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, inclusion, and providing opportunities for those traditionally underrepresented in tech. This position offers the chance to work at the cutting edge of autonomous logistics while making a meaningful impact on communities worldwide.
