Job Description

Expo - Spenard Roadhouse is a well-established restaurant located in Anchorage, Alaska, known for its welcoming atmosphere and high-quality dining experience. The establishment prides itself on delivering exceptional service and delicious food to its guests, with a focus on creating a comfortable and memorable environment. The Spenard Roadhouse is part of a group of sister restaurants, including Snow City Cafe, South Restaurant + Coffeehouse, and Crush Bistro, all of which maintain a high standard of culinary excellence and customer satisfaction. This vibrant and dynamic restaurant offers a unique blend of classic and contemporary dishes, crafted with fresh ingredients and prepared with care by a talented culinary team. It serves a diverse clientele, ranging from local residents to tourists, making it a popular destination in the Anchorage dining scene.

The role of the Expo at Spenard Roadhouse is a vital one, serving as the critical link between the front of house and back of house operations. The Expo acts as the liaison who ensures that every order leaving the kitchen meets the highest standards of quality and presentation. This position requires a keen eye for detail to verify that each plate is not only prepared correctly but also presented attractively, maintaining proper temperature and timing to guarantee customer satisfaction. The Expo must have an in-depth knowledge of all menu items, including ingredients and cooking methods, to effectively oversee the flow of dishes and support both the kitchen staff and servers.

In this position, the Expo plays an integral role in enhancing the guest experience by dealing with any comments or complaints with empathy and professionalism. They advocate for the guests' needs and preferences, paying special attention to dietary restrictions and allergies to ensure the safety and comfort of all patrons. This role also involves clear communication with servers and kitchen staff to resolve issues promptly and maintain smooth operations. The Expo must be familiar with the restaurant's operating procedures and adhere to them consistently while also taking the initiative to organize, restock, and clean during downtime.

Additionally, the Expo oversees all To Go orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness, proper packaging, and inclusion of necessary items such as napkins, cutlery, and condiments. They must be knowledgeable about table numbers and seating arrangements to efficiently deliver orders and attend to guest needs. This position requires physical stamina to work on foot in a fast-paced environment for extended periods and strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with the team and guests.

At Spenard Roadhouse, employment is structured as a part of a dedicated and supportive team that values professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering a superior dining experience. The company offers competitive benefits, making this a rewarding opportunity for individuals looking to grow their careers in the hospitality industry. The Expo role is ideal for candidates who thrive in fast-paced settings, excel in communication and organizational skills, and are passionate about providing impeccable service. With access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a flexible spending account, paid sick leave that converts to paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employer matching, and dining discounts at sister restaurants, Spenard Roadhouse fosters a positive and enriching work environment for its employees.
