The diner takes pride in delivering high-quality meals prepared with fresh ingredients and exceptional care. At Black Bear Diner, customer satisfaction and food quality are paramount, and the staff work together as a team to ensure every guest has a memorable dining experience. The restaurant has built a loyal customer base by emphasizing quality control, friendly service, and consistency in meal presentation. As part of their commitment to excellence, Black Bear Diner Hayward is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Expeditor to join their team.
The Food Expeditor role at Black Bear Diner Hayward is a critical position responsible for maintaining quality control of all food items before they leave the kitchen to ensure guests receive meals that meet the diner’s high standards. The expeditor serves as a vital liaison between the kitchen and the servers, verifying that all meals are prepared correctly and presented at the appropriate temperatures within established kitchen time standards. This includes paying close attention to special requests or modifications as indicated on Point of Sale (POS) tickets. In this fast-paced environment, the expeditor must maintain a neat and clean appearance, wear the proper uniform at all times, and utilize a radio headset for effective communication with fellow team members throughout the shift.
The ideal candidate will be punctual, reliable, and able to perform multiple duties simultaneously, including ensuring the expo station and surrounding areas are clean and well-stocked with condiments. Food Handlers Certification is required, reflecting the high food safety standards that Black Bear Diner upholds. Additionally, this role requires standing and walking for prolonged periods, lifting moderately heavy items, and managing the rapid pace of a busy restaurant environment. Excellent communication skills and a positive, cheerful attitude are essential to foster smooth operations and satisfy guests seated at the counter and throughout the dining area.
Working at Black Bear Diner offers opportunities to be part of a team-oriented environment where employees take ownership not just of their individual stations but of the entire restaurant. The expeditor role may require working overtime when needed and demands a team player mindset to ensure seamless food service operations. This is a rewarding position for someone passionate about food quality, guest satisfaction, and efficient restaurant operations. Black Bear Diner values its staff and emphasizes the importance of punctuality, adherence to uniform policies, and proper workstation maintenance to support the diner's reputation as a top dining destination in Hayward.
