Job Description

Vail Resorts is a premier mountain resort company renowned for its extensive portfolio of over 40 resorts spread across three continents. Embracing a dynamic environment where nature's beauty meets world-class hospitality, Vail Resorts offers an unparalleled experience for both guests and employees alike. As a leader in the outdoor recreation and resort industry, the company prides itself on fostering a vibrant community culture, emphasizing teamwork, learning, and guest service excellence. Employees at Vail Resorts benefit from exceptional perks, career development opportunities, and exposure to diverse cultures and mountain lifestyles.

Joining Vail Resorts as a Cook within their culinary team offers a unique blend of professional growth and adventure. The role is seasonal, focused on the summer period of 2026, and is designed for individuals passionate about culinary arts and the outdoor lifestyle. With a starting wage ranging from $21.00 to $24.19 per hour, this full-time position invites those eager to hone their culinary skills in a fast-paced yet supportive kitchen environment. The Cook plays a crucial role in assisting the Chef and ensuring that food quality and safety standards are upheld, directly contributing to the outstanding dining experience Vail Resorts guests have come to expect.

In this role, you will engage with modern kitchen equipment and learn to operate various kitchen tools essential for meal preparation and service. You'll play an important part in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation, often leading by example and training fellow kitchen staff to adhere to these high standards. Keeping inventory accurate through first-in-first-out methods and minimizing food waste are also key responsibilities that contribute to efficient kitchen operations.

Beyond the tangible kitchen duties, working at Vail Resorts means immersing yourself in an environment that promotes wellness, continuous training, and employee benefits tailored to support your lifestyle and professional journey. Employees enjoy free passes, discounted lift tickets, complimentary ski and snowboard lessons, and substantial discounts on lodging, food, gear, and mountain shuttles. This position also offers access to a 401(k) retirement plan and employee assistance programs ensuring that you have financial and emotional support throughout your employment.

The seasonal nature of this job allows flexibility for individuals who wish to combine their love for the outdoors with career ambitions or those seeking an immersive experience in one of the world’s most celebrated mountain resort companies. Housing is available to make the transition smoother and to create a community atmosphere where employees can connect and thrive throughout their stay.

Overall, working as a Cook at Vail Resorts presents an opportunity to gain valuable culinary experience while enjoying the vibrant mountain culture. Whether you are just starting your career or looking to expand your professional horizons, Vail Resorts provides a platform that supports development through Epic Service training, a comprehensive professional growth program. If you thrive in a collaborative, high-energy setting and look forward to creating unforgettable guest experiences in a breathtaking natural environment, this position could easily become a defining chapter in your career.
