The Experience Manager (EM) role is a critical leadership position within Ulta Beauty. This role involves leading a team that includes stylists, estheticians, guest coordinators, assistant services managers, sales managers, and boutique leads. The EM is responsible for driving top-line sales growth through the various business segments, including retail sales, salon services, boutiques, and makeup, while ensuring the highest standard of guest satisfaction and a superior service experience. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Cosmetology license and/or cosmetology management license as required by state law
  • 2-3+ years of relevant fast-paced retail management experience
  • Experience driving top-line sales and managing payroll budgets
  • Advanced competency in cosmetology services, including sales and guest experience
  • Knowledge of Board of Cosmetology regulations and hiring requirements
  • Proven retail management skills including inventory monitoring and operational excellence
  • Leadership experience attracting and developing talent and managing change
  • Proficient with Point of Sale systems, Microsoft Office, and Apple devices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle pressure, use judgment, and be adaptable

Job Duties

  • Promote a culture of accountability to meet or exceed store goals related to services, boutiques, retail sales, guest loyalty, payroll, omni-channel, and shrink
  • Drive company profitability through operational excellence, top-line sales growth, and expense control
  • Leverage store forecasts and payroll budgets to support scheduling needs and communicate with the General Manager
  • Address underperforming metrics by developing improvement strategies using company tools and resources
  • Support direct reports in developing and maintaining their clientele
  • Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations with guests
  • Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests
  • Maintain prompt and regular attendance and enforce attendance policies
  • Attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of top talent using various sourcing methods
  • Build an engaged team embodying the Ulta Beauty brand through collaboration and coaching
  • Create an inclusive environment encouraging associate growth and engagement
  • Support manager and associate professional development through training, feedback, and succession planning
  • Ensure direct reports participate in ongoing brand and category education
  • Establish professional relationships with peers and brand partners
  • Model teamwork and guest service excellence by working alongside leadership
  • Execute the Guest Engagement Leader program through coaching and guest experience initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards, including infection control
  • Enforce dress code adherence
  • Use scheduling and task management tools to create effective schedules and prioritize store tasks
  • Protect company assets and minimize loss by following operational standards
  • Execute day-to-day inventory control processes and theft reporting
  • Influence adoption of company initiatives and technology to improve store operations
  • Regularly communicate business trends and operational challenges to leadership
