Muldoon’s Irish Pub, situated in the heart of Newport Beach, is a welcoming establishment where traditional Irish cuisine meets modern pub fare. Known for its warm atmosphere and unique setting, Muldoon’s features four distinctive spaces — the Dublin Bar, Celtic Bar, Tavern Dining Room, and an open-air Patio centered around a majestic Sycamore tree. Muldoon’s Irish Pub is currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic Expediter (Expo) / Food Runners to join our dynamic restaurant and bar team. This is a fast-paced, team-oriented role that is perfect for individuals who thrive under pressure and take pride in delivering an exceptional guest dining experience. As an Expediter / Food Runner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth kitchen-to-table communication and service flow. Your responsibilities include accurately reading kitchen tickets, clarifying special requests or modifications with the kitchen and service teams, and plating dishes with care to meet quality and presentation standards.

In addition to coordinating food delivery to guests with professionalism and courtesy, you will monitor and restock necessary items, complete opening, side work, and closing duties to maintain readiness for each shift, and anticipate the needs of the kitchen and dining area to create a seamless service experience. Adherence to safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards in compliance with Health Department guidelines is mandatory. This hourly position offers compensation of $16.90 per hour and comes with employee discounts. Job Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Applicants under 18 may be required to provide a valid school work permit
  • Must have or be able to obtain a California Food Handler Certificate before training
  • Previous food service experience preferred
  • Competent to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, including frequent overhead lifting
  • Capable to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks

Job Qualifications

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Previous food service experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Read kitchen tickets and answer questions about modifications to ensure orders are accurate
  • Communicate guest requests or special instructions clearly to the kitchen and service team
  • Plate dishes with care, ensuring consistency, presentation, and adherence to quality standards
  • Deliver food to guests promptly and accurately, providing a professional and courteous experience
  • Monitor and restock Expo refrigerator pars and other necessary items throughout the shift
  • Complete opening, side work, and closing duties to ensure the kitchen and service areas are ready for the next shift
  • Anticipate needs during service to help create a smooth and enjoyable experience for guests
  • Maintain all safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards in accordance with Health Department and restaurant guidelines
