The Lodge at Sunriver Resort is a distinguished hospitality establishment known for its commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences in a stunning natural setting. As part of Sunriver Resort, a premier destination renowned for its AAA Four Diamond Standards, The Lodge offers guests comfort, elegance, and impeccable service across multiple dining venues including The Lodge Kitchen, The Living Room, and The Owl's Nest. With a dedication to quality and guest satisfaction, The Lodge stands out as a beacon of hospitality and culinary excellence, attracting visitors who seek both relaxation and top-tier dining experiences in the heart of the resort.
The role of Expediter/Food Runner at The Lodge is integral to maintaining the high standards that guests expect. This position involves meticulous coordination within the kitchen and dining areas to ensure that every dish served is not only accurate but also presented beautifully and delivered promptly. The Expediter/Food Runner works closely with the expo team to manage the timing and delivery of hot and cold dishes, guaranteeing that guests receive their meals at the optimum temperature and condition. Additionally, this role extends beyond food delivery by supporting the service staff with any additional guest needs, thereby enhancing the overall dining experience. This position exemplifies the Sunriver Resort’s core values of trust, open and honest communication, and commitment, serving as a role model for delivering exceptional service to both internal teams and external guests. The Expediter/Food Runner is more than just a conduit between the kitchen and the dining room; they are an ambassador of the Sunriver Resort culture and actively contribute to the resort’s vision of being the destination of choice for guests, owners, and associates alike.
This role requires a dynamic individual who can handle multiple responsibilities ranging from food inspection to customer interaction. Responsibilities include verifying each plate before it leaves the kitchen to ensure accuracy, making sure all condiments accompany orders, and working diligently to prevent any breakage or loss of items. The Expediter/Food Runner also manages opening, ongoing, and closing side work while ensuring workstations are stocked with the necessary linens, plates, and saucers for smooth service operations. Familiarity with all menus is expected to effectively assist guests and make recommendations when needed. Participation in monthly department and resort meetings signifies the importance of communication and continuous improvement within the team. Crucially, this role demands a proactive approach to addressing any potential guest issues promptly and with genuine concern, reinforcing the high service standards for which The Lodge is acclaimed.
The position is ideal for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a strong dedication to guest service. Prior food and beverage experience is preferred, as well as customer service skills that ensure positive interactions with guests. The Lodge fosters a collaborative environment where the Expediter/Food Runner works alongside servers and kitchen staff to seamlessly execute dining service, contributing to a memorable experience for every guest. Embracing a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays is necessary, reflecting the nature of the hospitality industry. Physical stamina is also important as the role involves significant standing, walking, and lifting. Overall, this role offers a meaningful opportunity to join a respected hospitality team and make an impactful contribution to the guest experience at Sunriver Resort.
