The role is part of the prestigious Flik Hospitality Ace Team based in New York City, primarily supporting units within the Tri-State area, with occasional travel up to 25% to other Flik locations. The Ace Team structure offers a dynamic and varied schedule mostly falling on weekdays, with some evening, weekend, and holiday assignments. With an annual salary range of $75,000 to $85,000, this position provides not just financial reward but also significant professional growth. Job Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in sushi preparation and kitchen leadership
- ability to lead and motivate a culinary team
- excellent knife skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
- strong commitment to food safety and guest satisfaction
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift up to 40 lbs
- proficiency with Microsoft Office and reservation/order systems
- ServSafe or Department of Health certification preferred
Job Qualifications
- 3+ years in upscale sushi preparation and high-volume operations
- proven ability to lead, coach, and inspire culinary teams
- exceptional knife skills and deep knowledge of sushi techniques and HACCP standards
- high level of integrity, discretion, and commitment to guest satisfaction
- comfortable with Microsoft Office and reservation/order systems
- ServSafe or Department of Health certification preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare and present high-quality sushi with attention to detail, flavor, and aesthetics
- own the sushi station’s setup, breakdown, and daily operations ensuring a seamless guest experience
- follow HACCP guidelines and ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of all perishable items
- train, lead, and motivate team members to uphold high standards of hospitality and professionalism
- partner with the Executive Chef to manage staff, implement company policies, and drive operational excellence
- stay current with culinary trends and bring fresh ideas to enhance sushi offerings and overall dining experience
