Job Description
Rocket Farm Restaurants is an innovative and people-centered hospitality group committed to fostering a work culture based on respect, dignity, and care. This philosophy of "We serve the person who is serving the guest" is deeply ingrained in the company’s operations, creating an environment where team members are supported and valued as much as their guests are. With a portfolio of vibrant restaurants across several cities including Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville, Houston, Raleigh, and Winter Park, Rocket Farm Restaurants is recognized for delivering exceptional dining experiences that combine quality, creativity, and a heartfelt approach to customer service.
Superica South End, a beloved member of the Rocket Farm Restaurants family in Charlotte, NC, offers a unique culinary experience, presenting evolved renditions of Tex-Mex classics in a playful Old-West inspired ambiance. Known for its inviting atmosphere where guests can savor the flavors of the South, Superica prides itself on its commitment to culinary excellence and innovation while maintaining a warm and welcoming environment.
The Executive Sous Chef role at Superica Charlotte is vital to maintaining and elevating the kitchen's operational and culinary standards. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $85,000 annually, depending on experience, coupled with a generous quarterly bonus program. Candidates can look forward to comprehensive full benefits eligibility after just 30 days, including major medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverages.
As the Executive Sous Chef, you will be the crucial second-in-command in kitchen operations, directly overseeing day-to-day activities such as production, food prep, stewarding, purchasing, receiving, and managing private parties and special events. The role demands a seasoned leader who can maintain kitchen quality in the absence of the Executive Chef, while fostering an environment where culinary staff can succeed and deliver exceptional menu items.
Success in this role requires a calm, composed demeanor under pressure and an ability to lead and unify a team effectively. Proficiency in managing labor costs, scheduling, and minimizing overtime is equally important to maximizing productivity and enhancing guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of progressive culinary experience, including two years of experience as a Sous Chef, and possess a strong commitment to culinary craftsmanship and team leadership.
Beyond the operational and culinary responsibilities, the Executive Sous Chef at Superica South End benefits from being part of an ethical and supportive workplace culture that prioritizes employee wellbeing. The company offers dynamic, performance-driven raises and promotions, generous paid time off, and family-friendly policies such as childbirth recovery and parental leave. Additional perks include significant long-term retention bonuses, holiday time off for major celebrations like Thanksgiving and Christmas, and a 50% discount at all Rocket Farm Restaurant locations.
Moreover, Rocket Farm Restaurants invests heavily in its team’s professional growth through Rocket Farm University, which provides specialized leadership classes and personalized career advancement support. Employees also benefit from mentorship programs led by their peers, advisory councils, and safety committees ensuring a healthy, safe, and collaborative working environment.
Joining Superica South End as an Executive Sous Chef means becoming part of a vibrant, innovative community that values your culinary expertise as much as your leadership and dedication to a positive workplace. This is a remarkable opportunity for an experienced culinary leader eager to contribute to an esteemed restaurant group while advancing their career in one of Charlotte’s dynamic culinary destinations.
