We are currently seeking an Executive Sous Chef to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in driving excellence in culinary operations and ensuring top-notch customer service and food experiences. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Executive Sous Chef will take a proactive, hands-on approach to leading kitchen personnel, focusing on team development, culinary expertise, and adherence to safety protocols. This position also involves important responsibilities such as overseeing client relations and helping the company meet budgetary goals and successfully execute corporate programs.

The Executive Sous Chef role demands a perfect balance of creativity, leadership, and operational knowledge. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to maintaining quality standards by developing and standardizing recipes, managing food costs, and ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently and safely. Beyond kitchen management, the Executive Sous Chef will also be involved in overseeing special catering events and providing culinary instruction or demonstrations to enhance team skills.

Job Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in a related position
  • 2-3 years of post-high school education or equivalent experience
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of principles and practices within the food profession
  • Experiential knowledge of management of people and or problems
  • Strong oral, reading and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise or coordinate all related culinary activities
  • Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
  • Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
  • Establish presentation technique and quality standards and plan and price menus
  • Ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen
  • Oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction or demonstrate culinary techniques
  • Assist in meeting budget requirements and execute company-delivered programs
