Job Description

SpaceX, a pioneering aerospace manufacturer and space transport services company, was founded with the ambitious vision of enabling human life on Mars and expanding humanity's reach beyond Earth. Established under the belief that a future where humanity is exploring the stars is vastly more exciting than one where we are not, SpaceX continues to develop revolutionary technologies aimed at making this vision a reality. The company's commitment to innovation, excellence, and pushing boundaries has led it to achieve numerous historical milestones in the space industry, including the development of reusable rockets and successful missions to the International Space Station.

SpaceX is currently seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Executive Sous Chef to join their team and contribute to the company's success by overseeing multiple food outlets that fuel the workforce and provide exceptional experiences to guests and VIPs. This role is integral to maintaining high standards in food service across diverse culinary environments within the company. The Executive Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to conceptualize and manage various culinary outlets, ensuring consistency in quality and service while also fostering outstanding employee engagement.

The ideal candidate will possess a versatile set of restaurant industry skills and demonstrate a boundless imagination combined with a strong "can-do" attitude. This position demands leadership capabilities, the ability to train and develop teams, and a thorough understanding of food safety standards and operational excellence. With responsibilities spanning from enforcing operational standards to coordinating the openings of new outlets with a special focus on VIP experiences, this role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a fast-paced and innovative corporate environment.

The position includes managing multiple teams, handling hiring and disciplinary actions, overseeing cost controls, and ensuring food quality and workplace safety across all food service areas. The Executive Sous Chef will also play a crucial role in employee training, health inspection compliance, and sustaining successful operations of new and ongoing food outlets.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range from $105,000 to $135,000 annually, with the final compensation determined on a case-by-case basis based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, the total rewards package includes long-term incentives such as company stock options, discretionary bonuses, comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and other perks. Employees also accrue paid vacation and paid holidays, fostering a supportive and rewarding work environment.

SpaceX is committed to equal employment opportunities and encourages candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply. This role requires adherence to U.S. Government export regulations, including citizenship or legal residency requirements, due to the company's involvement with sensitive technologies. Candidates must be prepared to participate in internal leadership and development training and be willing to occasionally travel as part of their duties.

In summary, the Executive Sous Chef position at SpaceX offers an exciting opportunity to combine culinary expertise with leadership in a visionary company dedicated to space exploration and innovation. Candidates will play a vital role in delivering outstanding food experiences that support SpaceX's mission and culture, contributing to a workplace that values excellence, creativity, and teamwork.
