The Executive Pastry Chef role at Casamata is a full-time, on-site leadership position based in New York City. This exciting role is responsible for overseeing the entire pastry program at Cosme, from concept to execution, including menu development, recipe creation, and the production of outstanding desserts, breads, and baked goods that embody the culinary philosophy of Cosme. The position requires a creative and skilled leader passionate about delivering high-quality pastry experiences that enhance the restaurant's reputation for excellence. The Executive Pastry Chef will lead day-to-day pastry production, ensuring the highest standards of quality, presentation, and consistency are maintained. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years experience in a leadership role within a pastry kitchen
- Strong knowledge of baking and pastry techniques
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Thorough understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to manage inventory and ordering
- Capable of maintaining quality and consistency under pressure
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in English
- Availability to work full-time on-site in New York City
Job Qualifications
- 4+ years of leadership experience in a high-volume, fine dining pastry kitchen
- Expertise in baking, pastry production, breads, desserts, and modern pastry techniques
- Strong culinary skills with creativity, seasonal ingredient knowledge, and presentation focus
- Proven experience leading, training, scheduling, and developing teams
- Thorough understanding of food safety, sanitation, inventory management, and kitchen organization
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining consistency and detail
- Excellent leadership, communication, and time management skills
- Culinary or Pastry Arts degree or equivalent professional training preferred
- English proficiency required
- Spanish proficiency a plus
