Job Description

The Bread Chic is a renowned high-volume artisan bakery located in Fort Collins, Colorado, specializing in long-fermented sourdough, croissants, pastries, and other handmade baked goods. Operating through two production facilities, the bakery has established itself as a pillar within the local food scene by consistently delivering high-quality products crafted with passion and skill. Alongside The Bread Chic, its sister concept, Rise & Vine, complements the bakery by offering an inviting café and wine bar experience that centers around elevated hospitality, artisan cuisine, and fostering community connection. Together, these establishments serve retail, wholesale, farmers markets, and café clientele, creating a diverse and dynamic food business dedicated to excellence.

The Executive Pastry Chef position is a pivotal leadership role responsible for enhancing and directing the pastry program across both The Bread Chic and Rise & Vine. This full-time, hands-on leadership opportunity requires an individual with strong technical capabilities in artisan baking—specifically sourdough, laminated dough, and pastry production—along with creativity and organizational finesse. The role focuses on overseeing croissant and laminated dough production, ensuring consistent quality across all pastry offerings, and innovating seasonal dessert creations that align with the elevated hospitality expected at Rise & Vine.

This role uniquely blends operational expertise with culinary creativity, demanding collaboration with both the sourdough bread production and wholesale teams to streamline production workflows and maintain excellence in quality and food safety standards. The Executive Pastry Chef will be entrusted with training, mentoring, and leading a team of pastry professionals, fostering a culture centered on accountability, craftsmanship, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Maintaining organized prep lists, production systems, and cleanliness standards across multiple locations forms an integral part of the leadership responsibilities.

Candidates who thrive in fast-paced artisan bakery settings, who are calm under pressure, and have a passion for quality ingredients and craftsmanship are ideal for this role. The company values relationships, hospitality, quality, responsibility, teamwork, and community, making it more than just a workplace—it’s an environment that nurtures growth, leadership, and meaningful connections through food. With weekend availability required and a competitive salary commensurate with experience, this role invites driven culinary professionals to contribute to and shape an evolving artisan pastry program within a growing bakery and café group.
