Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year hospitality experience
- Experience in catering sales
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi software
- Strong negotiating and sales skills
- Ability to manage multiple client relationships
- Knowledge of hotel safety and operations policies
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Willingness to comply with regular attendance policies
Job Qualifications
- Prior experience in hospitality with catering sales
- At least 1 year of experience in the hospitality industry
- Experience working in similar size and quality hotels
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi
- Knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, and team motivation
- Familiarity with hotel features, benefits, and market competitors
- Ability to execute action plans effectively
- Understanding of hotel operations including marketing, safety, labor relations, business planning, maintenance, budgeting, quality assurance, hospitality law, and long-range planning
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt communication style to varied audiences
Job Duties
- Understand monthly forecasting and annual budget process
- Raise meeting planner evaluation scores and ensure client satisfaction
- Optimize room rental charges
- Maintain and re-book repeat business with long-term client relationships
- Participate in industry organizations such as NACE and MPI
- Utilize sales techniques including strong closing and negotiating skills
- Conduct hotel site inspections and client presentations
- Provide innovative meeting setups and menus in collaboration with Chef
- Coordinate banquet operations and event execution with the banquet department
- Manage Audio/Visual equipment and operate as a profit center
- Utilize computer software including Delphi, Word, and Excel
- Monitor group room blocks and pickup
- Collaborate with outside vendors to ensure client satisfaction
- Comply with attendance policies
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
