The Shipboard Executive Chef plays a pivotal leadership role on Four Seasons Yacht I, overseeing all culinary operations to ensure the highest standards of food quality and service excellence. This senior position requires strategic and operational oversight across multiple dining venues including restaurants, bars, lounges, in-suite dining, stewarding, and crew dining areas. The Executive Chef is responsible for fostering a heart-centered leadership style that mentors and inspires the culinary team, creating innovative culinary concepts in collaboration with key management, managing food and beverage budgets, and ensuring compliance with the most stringent hygiene and safety protocols.
This role demands a dynamic leader with a passion for culinary excellence and a dedication to delivering memorable gastronomic experiences in a luxury hospitality setting. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience at the Executive Chef level, preferably in luxury environments such as Michelin-starred restaurants or high-end hotels, and ideally with some shipboard experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to effectively collaborate with the Yacht’s senior team members including the General Manager, Director of Food & Beverage, and Restaurant Manager. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a prestigious culinary team aboard an extraordinary vessel and to contribute to the evolution of four seasons hospitality at sea.
The position is typically a full-time role requiring candidates to hold valid work authorization, preferably in the United States, with start dates to be arranged. Job Requirements
- Valid work authorization preferably in the United States
- Minimum 7-10 years of culinary experience
- At least 5-7 years at executive chef level
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficiency in English
- Ability to work in a luxury hospitality environment
- Willingness to work on a yacht
- Commitment to hygiene and safety standards
Job Qualifications
- Degree in hospitality management preferred
- Backgrounds in leadership management, culinary arts, business administration or related fields considered
- Advanced certifications in culinary arts, food and beverage management or food safety highly desirable
- Minimum 7-10 years of progressive culinary experience
- At least 5-7 years at executive chef level in senior leadership
- Experience in luxury hospitality environments preferred
- Shipboard experience preferred but not mandatory
- Excellent leadership and strategic planning skills
- Outstanding communication skills with proficiency in English
- Experience with food and beverage operational systems
- Experience in Michelin-starred restaurants or luxury hotels highly regarded
