With a rich history spanning over a century, Delaware North operates across a variety of sectors, including sports venues, casinos, national and state parks, and hotels. Among its notable ventures is its presence in national parks, where it is committed to delivering outstanding guest experiences while respecting and preserving the natural environment. One of the highlights of their portfolio is the Wuksachi Lodge, located in the breathtaking Sequoia National Park in California. This lodge offers visitors a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in one of the most beautiful and ecologically significant settings in the United States, surrounded by ancient giant redwoods and stunning natural landscapes.
Joining Delaware North as the Executive Chef at Wuksachi Lodge means becoming part of a dedicated team of culinary and hospitality professionals who strive to create memorable dining experiences for every guest. This full-time, year-round position offers not only the chance to lead a dynamic culinary operation but also the opportunity to live and work amidst the beauty of Sequoia National Park. The company supports its team members with relocation assistance and provides manager housing, making the transition both smooth and welcoming. The compensation package is competitive, with a base salary ranging from $78,400 to $105,800 annually, along with an annual bonus plan tied to company and individual performance or an uncapped sales incentive plan that rewards excellence in role execution.
As the Executive Chef, you will be charged with overseeing the culinary operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and service. You will lead, motivate, and develop a talented team, fostering an environment of collaboration and continuous improvement. The role requires a blend of creative culinary skills and strong operational leadership, including recipe development, menu planning, inventory management, budgeting, and compliance with health and safety regulations. Your expertise will direct the kitchen staff and service teams, driving performance and maintaining an efficient operation that consistently delights guests.
The position demands a proactive leader with solid financial acumen and an ability to manage complex operational reports and budgets. You will also manage scheduling, labor costs, and inventory controls while maintaining firm adherence to company policies and regulatory standards. The role involves direct involvement in hiring, training, counseling, and sometimes terminating staff to ensure the team remains highly skilled and motivated. Additionally, you will utilize company technology systems, such as invoice tracking and point-of-sale software, to streamline operations.
Working at Wuksachi Lodge provides a unique lifestyle opportunity, combining a passion for culinary arts with the privilege of living and working in one of America's treasured natural parks. Delaware North is devoted to its employees' growth, offering multiple career paths and chances for advancement across its many properties nationwide. Along with competitive pay and benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid vacation and holidays, parental bonding leave, and tuition reimbursement, this role offers comprehensive support for both personal and professional development.
At Delaware North, you join more than an employer—you become part of a global family dedicated to excellence in hospitality. This role calls for a committed culinary professional ready to make an impact through leadership and innovation at Wuksachi Lodge, where every meal served creates a lasting memory for visitors from around the world.
