Founded over 100 years ago as a family-owned business, Delaware North has built a rich legacy of delivering exceptional guest experiences worldwide. The company operates the food and beverage services at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio, home to Major League Baseball's Cleveland Guardians, a stadium that seats 35,041 fans. As a leader in the hospitality industry, Delaware North is committed to fostering the personal and professional growth of its team members while prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
The Executive Chef role at Delaware North Sportservice offers an exciting opportunity to lead the culinary operations at Progressive Field, one of the premier sports venues in the United States. Reporting to senior management, the Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing the entire kitchen and service teams to ensure that every guest receives high-quality, memorable dining experiences. This position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $81,900 to $110,600 annually, along with an annual bonus plan based on individual, company, and location performance, as well as additional role-based uncapped sales incentives.
The Executive Chef will be a vital member of the Delaware North team, tasked with maintaining culinary excellence, innovating menu offerings, and managing operational budgets effectively. A key aspect of this role involves hiring, training, and empowering kitchen and service staff to perform at their best, cultivating a positive, productive work environment. In addition, the chef will develop and maintain detailed recipes, portion specifications, and standard preparation guidelines, while managing purchasing practices to align with budgetary goals. The role demands strong financial acumen, including proficiency with profit and loss statements, budgeting, inventory control, and labor management.
Compliance and safety are critical priorities for this position, requiring the Executive Chef to maintain up-to-date knowledge of company policies, health department regulations, and food safety standards. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience as an Executive Chef in a high-volume, leading concept, plus a decade of comprehensive culinary experience in established restaurants and catering environments. A culinary degree or certificate, along with certifications such as ServSafe and Food Safety Handler, are preferred for this position.
The role demands excellent leadership skills, the ability to work a flexible and sometimes demanding schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and events, and strong communication capabilities to effectively lead and motivate diverse teams. Delaware North values innovative recipe development and operational excellence, making this a highly desirable position for ambitious culinary professionals eager to advance their careers in a supportive and globally recognized environment. Joining Delaware North means you will be part of a team dedicated to crafting exceptional guest experiences in world-class settings, with abundant opportunities for upward mobility and professional development.
