Job Description
Noble Food & Pursuits is a renowned culinary group that brings together a collection of unique dining concepts with a shared commitment to craftsmanship, hospitality, and community. Among its distinguished establishments, Rooster's Wood-Fired Kitchen stands out as an embodiment of the company’s philosophy that craftsmanship and hospitality are inseparable. This restaurant is celebrated for its wood-fired cooking approach, focused on open-hearth kitchens where honest techniques highlight the best seasonal ingredients. Rooted in culinary simplicity yet driven by precision, Rooster's offers guests a warm and balanced dining experience where attention to detail defines every plate served. Located in SouthPark, Rooster's Wood-Fired Kitchen is currently seeking an Executive Chef to lead its culinary team and uphold the high standards that define the Noble Food & Pursuits brand.
The Executive Chef role at Rooster’s SouthPark is a hands-on leadership position that is both artistic and operational in nature. This role is critical to setting the tone of kitchen culture, driving excellence in food execution, and ensuring that every service reflects the integrity and values of the organization. The Executive Chef will provide clear direction and organizational leadership for the kitchen operations while fostering an environment of communication, consistency, and teamwork. Collaboration is essential, and this role works closely daily with other entities within Noble Food & Pursuits, including Field Pea Catering, Copain Bakery, and the Private Dining Team, ensuring a seamless integration of quality and service standards across all operations. Leadership is a key component of this role, with responsibilities including developing and mentoring a talented culinary team comprising sous chefs, line cooks, and porters. The Executive Chef champions craftsmanship, communication, and mutual respect while promoting teamwork, pride, and continuous growth among team members. Acting as a role model for integrity, professionalism, and composure, the Executive Chef sets clear expectations for excellence during every service.
From a culinary and operational perspective, the Executive Chef oversees all daily kitchen activities, ensuring a smooth flow from preparation through service, while maintaining precision and consistency. They maintain an active presence during service, particularly manning the pass to guide execution and uphold standards. Menu development is a significant part of the role, with responsibility for leading seasonal menus that celebrate wood-fired techniques, ingredient integrity, and a philosophy of restrained simplicity. The Executive Chef works with established local farmers and suppliers and is encouraged to build new partnerships that enrich the restaurant’s commitment to quality, sustainability, and community engagement. System refinement to boost kitchen efficiency, communication, and creativity is another crucial aspect of the role.
Financially, this role requires strong acumen to analyze kitchen performance, identify trends, and strategize cost controls related to food and labor. Accurate forecasting and inventory management are maintained to ensure operational consistency and efficiency, while safeguarding company assets and equipment reliability is paramount. The Executive Chef collaborates closely with executive leadership, engaging in financial performance meetings and executive chef roundtables to align goals and explore industry best practices.
Rooster’s offers a competitive salary range between $90,000 and $100,000 annually, with opportunities for performance-based bonuses. The comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance, dental insurance, and paid time off, adding significant value to the employment experience. Additionally, employees enjoy a monthly dining stipend valid at other Noble Food & Pursuits concepts, supporting a broader connection within the culinary group. This role also presents numerous opportunities for professional development and advancement as the company continues to grow. By joining Rooster's Wood-Fired Kitchen, the Executive Chef becomes part of a vibrant team dedicated to excellence, quality, and nurturing a community of hospitality professionals who truly do things the right way.
