Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years kitchen management experience
- demonstrated cost control skills
- professional presentation
- proficiency with MS Office software
- current Food Handler's card and necessary permits
- experience with employee scheduling in hospitality
- ability to obtain sanitation certification
- strong knowledge of food preparation
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Job Qualifications

- current Food Handler's card and alcohol service permit if required
- knowledge of employee scheduling in hospitality

- technical proficiency in food preparation methods

- experience in staff training, evaluation, motivation and coaching
- ability to delegate responsibility effectively

Job Duties
- Manage, develop and mentor staff of 35 full-time and part-time culinary employees
- oversee hiring, firing, and disciplining
- ensure event staff are aware of workplace expectations and provide ongoing training and mentoring
- control budgeted food percentages through effective measures like portion control, inventory rotation and purchasing procedures
- control labor costs via scheduling, cross-training and monitoring breaks
- ensure food purchasing and preparation meet quality and consistency standards
- develop menus and monitor food production and presentation
- supervise line set-up, prep and breakdown activities
- coordinate kitchen equipment storage, maintenance and repair
- manage delivery and set-up of catered services
- arrange kitchen staff skills training and provide leadership
- maintain positive employee relations and resolve problems
- ensure compliance with health, safety and employment regulations
- maintain kitchen record keeping and employee scheduling
- promote teamwork through effective communication
- oversee production of staff meals ensuring timeliness and quality
