Currently, Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef to join its team at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, OH. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend strategic culinary management with hands-on kitchen leadership in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The Executive Chef will play a critical role in managing all back-of-the-house operations, ensuring high standards of culinary excellence, and driving innovation in menu development and sustainability initiatives. This position requires a dynamic leader who is accessible and engaged with their team, spending significant time on the floor during service to provide guidance and support.
The Executive Chef at the University of Cincinnati will be responsible for overseeing purchasing, menu compliance, inventory management, food cost analysis, and production forecasting. They will lead efforts to implement and maintain Sodexo’s culinary standards, including recipe compliance and food quality. The successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production, and management systems, ensuring consistent application and compliance across campus dining venues.
Additionally, the Executive Chef will spearhead concept development and menu design, introducing innovative culinary concepts that cater to the diverse tastes and dietary needs of the student body and staff. This role emphasizes customer satisfaction by promoting brand loyalty and responding effectively to customer feedback and needs.

Job Requirements
- associate's degree or equivalent experience
- minimum 2 years management experience
- minimum 2 years work experience in food or culinary services
- ability to lead and manage a large team
- strong communication skills
- ability to manage conflicting priorities
- experience managing food and labor costs
- knowledge of HACCP standards
- proficiency with computer systems related to food inventory and ordering
Job Qualifications
- associate's degree or equivalent experience
- minimum of 2 years management experience
- minimum of 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc
- innovative and creative catering background
- exemplary communication skills with the ability to lead a large team
- strong organizational skills, detail-oriented and task-focused
- strong leadership skills and hands-on training approach
- strong computer skills
- HACCP training skills
Job Duties
- be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis, and food production forecasting
- ensure Sodexo culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented
- have a working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production, and management systems
- implement those systems and ensure ongoing compliance across campus
- oversee concept development, menu design, and the implementation of new culinary concepts
- drive innovation and excellence in the university's dining program to meet the diverse needs and tastes of the student body and staff
- promote customer loyalty and brand image, diagnose customer needs, and recommend appropriate products or services
