Job Requirements

  • Five to seven years of experience in commercial cooking including at least two years in a management position
  • Apprenticeship or certification course from culinary school preferred
  • Additional certifications such as diet chef or industrial chef or equivalent professional experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food and hygiene regulations such as HACCP
  • Financial understanding

Job Duties

  • Ensuring all Halal protocols are followed including ingredient handling cross-contamination prevention and proper storage practices
  • Partnering with certifying bodies and vendors to ensure full compliance with Halal certification
  • Leading training and coaching culinary teams on Halal food preparation and service standards
  • Developing authentic and innovative Middle Eastern and Halal-compliant menu offerings
  • Maintaining the highest food safety and sanitation standards in a high-volume production environment
  • Overseeing all food production activities in responsible CSC
  • Responsible for deviations in inventories initiating countermeasures if necessary
