Job Description

Whitsons Culinary Group is a leading provider of school nutrition services known for its commitment to enhancing the lives of students through healthy, high-quality meals. The company specializes in delivering innovative food service solutions tailored to K-12 educational institutions, focusing on wellness, nutrition, and community impact. With a strong emphasis on operational excellence and team development, Whitsons has established itself as a trusted partner in school districts across the country, dedicated to supporting student health and educational success through proper nutrition.

As an Executive Chef Manager at Whitsons, you will step into a pivotal leadership role with the responsibility to oversee culinary operations across an entire school district. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 and represents a significant opportunity to lead and inspire a team that serves thousands of students daily. Your role will blend supervision, mentorship, and hands-on operational management to ensure that every meal meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and nutritional compliance.

In this role, you will supervise and support chef managers and kitchen managers district-wide, ensuring that culinary production aligns with USDA, National School Lunch Program (NSLP), and Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act (HHFKA) guidelines. Your leadership will help drive adherence to food safety policies, menu execution, cost control initiatives, and staff development programs. Spending approximately 80 percent of your time visiting kitchens, you will provide on-the-ground support that fosters continuous improvement and operational accountability.

You will also play an essential role in financial oversight by monitoring food, labor, and operational costs to maintain budgetary discipline across multiple locations. Collaboration is key, as you will partner with the Resident District Manager and General Manager to implement food service initiatives and lead monthly team meetings. Additionally, you will contribute to wellness, nutrition, and administrative committees that shape the direction of the district's food service strategy.

Marketing and engagement are also part of your remit, where you will lead on-site promotions and presentations to increase participation and promote nutritious meal options. You will prepare detailed reports, conduct performance reviews, and maintain effective communications that keep stakeholders informed, motivated, and aligned with organizational goals.

Whitsons values leadership with purpose and offers a supportive company culture focused on development, wellness, and impact. This position not only provides a platform to advance your culinary and managerial expertise but also offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and communities. Joining Whitsons means becoming part of a mission-driven team committed to "Enhancing Life One Meal at a Time."
