The Executive Chef role at Aramark is a pivotal management position responsible for overseeing chef managers and hourly culinary staff to ensure exceptional culinary operations. This role plays a critical part in developing and executing diverse culinary solutions that satisfy customer tastes and client needs. The Executive Chef is tasked with maintaining high standards in food production, presentation, and service, utilizing advanced culinary techniques to deliver quality meals consistently. This leadership role involves training and coaching staff, fostering teamwork and employee engagement, and managing daily operational activities such as team meetings and huddles. The Executive Chef also ensures compliance with food safety and quality standards like Aramark's SAFE standards and operational excellence fundamentals. Additionally, the position demands strategic management of food and labor costs, inventory, and supply chain procurement to optimize margin improvement and operational efficiency. Interaction with guests to build lasting rapport and to receive direct feedback is a key element, supporting a guest-focused approach to culinary services. Job Requirements

  • Four years of culinary experience
  • two years of management experience preferred
  • culinary degree or equivalent experience
  • ability to multi-task
  • ability to communicate effectively orally, in writing, and by reading
  • advanced culinary knowledge
  • management experience in people and problem-solving
  • ability to simplify agendas for the team

Job Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of culinary experience
  • minimum 2 years in a management role preferred
  • culinary degree or equivalent experience
  • advanced knowledge of food profession principles and practices
  • experiential knowledge in managing people and problems
  • oral, reading, and written communication skills
  • ability to multi-task
  • ability to simplify team agendas

Job Duties

  • Ensure culinary production aligns with the Executional Framework
  • maintain proper culinary standards and techniques for food preparation including production, presentation, and service
  • manage culinary team including chef managers and hourly staff to ensure quality in final presentation of food
  • train and manage culinary and kitchen employees on best practice food production techniques
  • coach employees by creating a shared understanding of goals and methods
  • reward and recognize employees
  • plan and execute team meetings and daily huddles
