Levy is hiring an Executive Chef to be based at the Columbus Georgia Convention and Trade Center in Columbus, GA. This full-time executive-level position offers a competitive salary of $105,000 plus bonuses and presents an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced culinary professional. The Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations to ensure a safe, sanitary, and productive work environment. This role demands culinary leadership expertise and entrepreneurial energy to manage food preparation and production aligned with Levy's corporate standards and guidelines. The successful candidate will develop and plan menus, maintain quality control in food preparation, and lead a team by training kitchen staff on food safety, sanitation, and equipment handling. As part of this leadership role, the Executive Chef will also implement inventory control measures, collaborate on cleaning and maintenance scheduling, and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations as evidenced through audits by local health authorities and other third parties.

Beyond managing day-to-day kitchen operations, the Executive Chef will be involved in strategic food cost management and quality assurance, ensuring that all culinary offerings meet Levy’s high-quality standards and client expectations. This position requires a hands-on approach with detailed oversight of meal production, waste management, and use of leftover products in accordance with company policy. The Executive Chef will participate actively in department meetings, staff development activities, and professional programs to foster continuous improvement and team excellence.

Levy values advanced culinary skills combined with operational management experience, especially in high-volume and complex foodservice environments. Ideal candidates will have at least five years of progressive culinary and kitchen management experience, preferably with catering and institutional batch cooking backgrounds. This role also requires proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office applications, email, and internet use. The organization highly favors candidates with ServSafe certification. Job Qualifications

  • Associate of science degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum five years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
  • Extensive catering experience preferred
  • Experience in high volume, complex foodservice operations
  • Hands-on chef experience required
  • Knowledge of food and catering trends focusing on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Outlook, email and internet
  • ServSafe certification highly desirable
  • Ability to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities

Job Duties

  • Plan regular and modified menus according to established guidelines
  • Follow standardized recipes, portioning and presentation standards
  • Complete and utilize daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
  • Taste completed meals to ensure quality
  • Train kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, operation of equipment, food safety and sanitation based on company and regulatory standards
  • Establish and maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage and work areas
  • Ensure kitchen staff follows and completes schedules as assigned
  • Maintain inventory of food and non-food supplies to stay within established guidelines
  • Make all decisions regarding utilization of leftover food products staying within company guidelines
  • Comply with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations
  • Follow facility, department, and company safety policies and procedures
  • Participate and attend departmental meetings, staff development, and professional programs as appropriate
