The Executive Chef role at BBSI is a pivotal leadership position within the club’s Food and Beverage department. This role requires a seasoned culinary professional who will lead and manage all culinary operations at the club to uphold the highest levels of food quality, presentation, and member and guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include developing innovative, fresh, and appealing menus tailored to the tastes and dietary needs of a diverse membership. The Executive Chef is tasked with overseeing kitchen management, from food preparation and cooking to plating and maintaining a sanitary environment. Leadership is a critical aspect of this role, as it involves supervising and mentoring kitchen staff including sous chefs, line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers, promoting a positive work culture and fostering teamwork.

Cost control and inventory management are equally essential to this role, with the Executive Chef focusing on efficient purchasing, reducing waste, and negotiating vendor contracts to optimize food costs without compromising quality. Health, safety, and sanitation compliance are critical in the execution of all culinary operations, requiring thorough knowledge and implementation of food safety protocols like HACCP and ServSafe standards. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 annually, supplemented by bonus incentives. Job Requirements

  • Formal culinary education or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of 5-7 years progressive culinary experience
  • At least 3 years in leadership roles such as Executive Chef or Sous Chef
  • ServSafe certification or equivalent
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Experience managing food costs and inventory
  • Passion for culinary excellence and creativity

Job Qualifications

  • Formal culinary education or equivalent professional experience

Job Duties

  • Develop innovative and appealing menus for all food outlets including main dining, casual dining, banquets, and special events
  • Create and standardize recipes ensuring consistency and quality
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking adhering to recipes and presentation guidelines
  • Manage kitchen operations including food prep, cooking, plating, and cleaning
  • Supervise and mentor kitchen staff including sous chefs, line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers
  • Recruit, train, and develop kitchen staff fostering positive work environment
  • Manage food cost, purchasing, inventory control, and waste reduction
  • Negotiate with vendors for best prices and quality
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations including HACCP protocols
  • Conduct regular kitchen inspections
  • Collaborate with Food & Beverage Manager and Sales & Event Coordinator for menu alignment and event execution
  • Oversee maintenance and cleanliness of kitchen equipment and storage areas
