The Executive Chef 3 role within Sodexo Corporate Services is a unique opportunity to lead a flagship corporate dining operation known as the "Modern Recipe" branded account. This role challenges the selected candidate to act as a dynamic culinary leader overseeing a high-profile campus location that caters to a broad range of dining experiences including a vibrant café, an upscale coffee bar, and a busy catering service generating $1.2 million annually. The operation is recognized for its high-volume, high-impact business with peak activity mid-week, and it serves as an important showcase for Sodexo’s culinary capabilities. This position offers a blend of leadership, creativity, and operational management in an environment that encourages innovation and client engagement.

As the Campus Executive Chef, you will be responsible for guiding and developing a culinary team consisting of one salaried executive chef and 10 hourly employees. Your leadership will drive menu innovation focused on fresh, modern, and client-centered offerings while maintaining rigorous purchasing, inventory, and cost control procedures. This role requires a hands-on approach with daily involvement in kitchen operations to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality, delectable food. Catering and special events represent a significant portion of your portfolio, including oversight of large-scale, high-end functions such as an annual $300,000 holiday dining experience. Your ability to balance cafe service with event excellence will be key to the continuing success and growth of the operation.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, or mall food courts
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-facing environment
  • Strong culinary leadership and mentoring skills
  • Proven experience managing high-volume food service and catering operations
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Leading and developing a team of 1 salaried executive chef and 10 hourly team members

  • Managing purchasing, inventory, and cost controls
  • Maintaining a hands-on presence (60-70%) in daily operations to ensure quality and consistency
  • Overseeing high-end catering and special events (40% of business), balanced with daily cafe operations (60%)
  • Collaborating with Sodexo leadership and clients to deliver an exceptional culinary experience
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
