Greek House Chefs (GHC) is a distinguished culinary management company specializing in providing top-tier food services and kitchen management primarily for Greek life organizations at university campuses. The Executive Chef at Greek House Chefs plays a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing all culinary operations within a designated GHC kitchen. This position involves managing kitchen activities, including food preparation, menu development, staff training, and product purchasing. The Executive Chef works closely with both the GHC management team and the house management to ensure client satisfaction by maintaining superior food quality and service standards. They are tasked with not only maintaining but improving the overall performance and health of the account. This includes strategic planning to meet budgetary constraints, rigorous adherence to hygiene and safety regulations, and direct involvement in recruiting, scheduling, and mentoring kitchen personnel. The role requires a strong culinary background combined with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to efficiently manage daily kitchen operations and special events. The Executive Chef is also responsible for utilizing the Greek House Chefs App and other compliance and inventory management software to handle administrative tasks such as menu submissions and budget tracking. They must maintain professional appearance standards and be adaptable to work at different campus locations as needed, contributing to the overall success and reputation of Greek House Chefs.

Job Requirements
- Serv Safe Certification within first available class following employment and maintain certification
- valid food handler's card required
- minimum 2 years kitchen management experience
- ability to stand and walk for over two-thirds of the time
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- strong communication skills
- availability to work 40-45 hours per week and attend up to 3 special events per semester
- must maintain professional appearance in designated chef coat
- comply with all scheduling and time management protocols
- ability to transfer to other worksites as needed
Job Qualifications
- 2-3 years lead sous or executive chef experience and/or culinary degree preferred
- ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals
- knowledge of compliance software
- experience with inventory management software
- strong coordination and monitoring skills
- excellent active listening and critical thinking skills
- ability to communicate effectively with chefs and students
- knowledge of workplace safety procedures
- ability to train and instruct kitchen staff

Job Duties
- Ensures overall health of the account is positive and in good standing
- plans and directs food preparation and culinary activities
- modifies menus or creates new ones that meet quality standards
- assists in recruiting and managing kitchen staff
- manages employee schedules and hours
- manages the GHC App
- ensures the overall cleanliness of the kitchen meets and exceeds health and equipment standards
- makes periodic inspections of food preparation and service quality
- coordinates training activities for kitchen and production staff
- follows proper procedures for equipment requests
- develops recipes and portion specifications according to standards
- submits menus and budgets on the GHC App in a timely manner
- schedules and attends food committee reviews
- plans and participates in special events
- maintains positive vendor and client relationships
- implements account-specific service procedures
- monitors scheduling and time management
- transfers to other worksites as needed
- performs other duties as assigned
