Job Description
Greek House Chefs (GHC) is a renowned catering service company specializing in providing exceptional culinary experiences with a keen focus on efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction. Known for servicing Greek houses and various campus communities, GHC blends traditional culinary arts with innovative food service management to meet a diverse set of dining needs. The company prides itself on nurturing professional growth, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and adapting swiftly to client and industry demands. GHC integrates technology into daily operations by utilizing specialized apps for scheduling, purchasing, and menu management, positioning itself as a leader in culinary service solutions within academic and social communities.
The role of Executive Chef at GHC is a dynamic and leadership-intensive position responsible for managing all culinary activities within the kitchen they oversee. This role ensures that the kitchen operations align with the company's high standards for quality, hygiene, and customer satisfaction. As the key culinary leader, the Executive Chef plans menus, supervises food preparation, manages kitchen personnel, oversees product purchasing, and balances the culinary budget to optimize resources without compromising on excellence.
More than just a kitchen manager, this Executive Chef collaborates closely with both GHC management and the client houses to ensure that all culinary expectations are met and exceeded. Responsibilities include maintaining the kitchen's cleanliness in accordance with health and equipment standards, performing regular inspections to uphold quality and sanitation, and facilitating training initiatives to strengthen the culinary team's skills. The Executive Chef is expected to work a minimum of 40 to 45 hours per week and be available for up to three special events per semester, coordinating detailed planning to meet specific event requirements.
Proficiency in managing digital tools like the Greek House Chefs App is essential for submitting menus, budgets, and scheduling resources efficiently. The position demands a charismatic leader who maintains a professional appearance, fosters strong vendor and client relationships, and implements service procedures customized to each account's needs. With an emphasis on problem-solving, critical thinking, and effective communication, the Executive Chef catalyzes a culture of excellence that supports staff development and customer satisfaction.
This role is ideal for culinary professionals with 2-3 years of relevant leadership experience, preferably a culinary degree, who are looking to expand their career in an engaging, client-focused environment. The position underpins a strong foundation in kitchen operations, staff management, and food quality assurance while encouraging innovation and continuous improvement. Employee development is further supported by mandatory certifications including Serv Safe and maintaining a valid food handler’s card. GHC stands as a leader in merging culinary tradition with modern operational practices, delivering unmatched culinary services in a stimulating and rewarding workplace environment.
