The role of Catering Executive Chef 2 at UAB is a critical culinary leadership position within Sodexo’s campus dining operations. Reporting directly to the Campus Executive Chef, the Executive Chef 2 will be deeply involved in every facet of the catering operation, providing hands-on culinary expertise and leadership. This position requires an energetic, polished professional with extensive fine dining experience and a passion for developing culinary teams and innovative menus. Responsibilities include managing menu planning, inventory control, ordering, food cost analysis, and ensuring strict adherence to recipes to maintain the highest culinary standards.
Beyond technical skills, this role emphasizes mentorship and team development, encouraging frontline employees to take ownership and pride in their work. The Executive Chef 2 is responsible for fostering a positive and engaging kitchen culture, nurturing talent to build a strong pipeline of future culinary leaders. - minimum of 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts

Job Duties
- be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting

- ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance
- have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems
