Job Requirements

  • Large scale college/university culinary experience
  • Strong culinary background with catering and banquet experience
  • Emphasis on food presentation, quality, execution, menu design, and implementation
  • Focus on customer service excellence
  • Demonstrated experience providing strong leadership, including supervision, direction, and training of diverse teams
  • Focus on food and physical safety and sanitation
  • Experience managing food and labor cost controls to meet targets
  • Understanding of food allergens and special dietary needs
  • Strong understanding of financials and analytical skills
  • ServSafe certification
  • Culinary degree preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, or institutional services
  • Strong culinary background with emphasis on catering and banquets
  • Experience in food presentation, quality, execution, menu design, and implementation
  • Proven leadership experience including supervision, direction, and training of diverse teams
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and allergen management
  • Strong understanding of financial management and analytical skills
  • ServSafe certification and culinary degree preferred

Job Duties

  • Follow culinary trends and innovate using local sustainable food sources
  • Translate ideas into unique menu and recipe programs that advance the culinary experience
  • Effectively manage and communicate with culinary staff, key personnel, catering staff, and management teams
  • Provide training on diverse cooking techniques, plate presentation, quality, safety, and culinary methods
  • Manage food costs, labor, and controllable expenses to achieve financial targets
  • Lead and engage a dynamic team with passion and dedication
  • Oversee execution of a wide range of events from formal dining to large community gatherings
