The Executive Chef role at Jake's Unlimited is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing all culinary operations. The Executive Chef leads the kitchen's daily operations ensuring that food quality, presentation, and consistency meet the highest standards. This position offers a competitive salary range between $75,000 and $95,000 per year, dependent on experience, with an additional performance bonus opportunity. The Executive Chef will be instrumental in refining and implementing the culinary program and operating standards. This includes leading a team focused on accountability and collaboration, managing food costs, labor, purchasing, inventory, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. The role demands someone who can balance operational excellence with creative input by leading menu development efforts, including new a la carte and premium catering menus.
Jake's Unlimited values leadership that promotes a positive kitchen culture and engages with senior management to drive financial and operational improvements. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of progressive culinary leadership experience, ideally with backgrounds such as Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, or Culinary Manager. Experience in high-volume, made-to-order kitchen operations and a solid scratch kitchen background are crucial. The role also requires strong management skills in food cost control, labor management, purchasing, and inventory oversight.
Beyond technical skills, outstanding leadership, coaching, and communication abilities are fundamental in this role. The Executive Chef must ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations while fostering a team-driven, high-performance kitchen culture. A ServSafe Manager Certification, or the ability to obtain it, is required. The position involves working evenings, weekends, and holidays to support the operational needs of the business.
