The role of Executive Chef at Atria Senior Living is a pivotal position responsible for the overall management and successful operation of the culinary services within the community. You will play a key role in scheduling, administrative reporting, and managing the operational flow of both kitchen and dining areas. The Executive Chef is also involved in planning and executing special events, banquets, and themed meals which contribute to the vibrant community life at Atria.
Additionally, the Executive Chef must be organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in maintaining cleanliness and quality standards. The ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff is essential to ensure a harmonious dining experience. The role may also include managerial duties such as acting as manager on duty and performing additional tasks as needed to support the overall success of the community.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree GED
- Five or more years culinary experience in the hospitality industry
- Experience supervising staff and working in a team setting
- Food handlers permit as required by applicable law and Company standards
- HACCP certification may be required
- Adherence to Company appearance and dress code policies
- Strong organization detail orientation and time management skills
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word Outlook and Excel
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing
- Position may require driving responsibilities with Company or personal vehicle
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree GED
- Culinary arts degree and or chef certification strongly preferred
- Five or more years culinary experience in the hospitality industry
- Demonstrated experience in supervising staff and working in a team setting
- Effective communication skills in English both verbally and in writing
- Food handlers permit as required by law and Company standards
- HACCP certification may be required
- Strong organization detail orientation and time management skills
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word Outlook and Excel
- Valid driver’s license
Job Duties
- Interviewing hiring training developing and performance managing assigned staff including scheduling of hours breaks and meal periods
- Maintaining monthly and annual budgets for Culinary Services department including producing written documentation of monthly spend on food supplies and labor
- Maintaining appropriate inventory of kitchen supplies small wares and table ware
- Ensuring purchasing standards are maintained and that appropriate vendors are used
- Maintaining strong positive relationships with vendors
- Ensuring food is prepared stored and served according to Company standards and legal requirements
- Meeting regularly with residents and family members to confirm high satisfaction levels
- Working with staff to ensure high levels of customer service
- Coordinating front of house and back of house staff to exceed resident expectations
- Maintaining customer satisfaction and health survey levels at or above designated scores
- Maintaining timely and accurate documentation and reports
- Maintaining employee satisfaction and engagement scores
- Delegating tasks to maintain highest levels of cleanliness and quality
- Conducting department meetings in-services and pre-meal stand ups
- Ensuring proper use and maintenance of equipment
- Assisting with planning preparation and execution of special events banquets and theme meals
- Collaborating with Community Sales team to market the community
- Acting as manager on duty as required
- Performing other duties as assigned
