Job Description

Aramark is currently seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join their culinary leadership team. This is a dynamic management role responsible for overseeing chef managers and hourly culinary staff. The Executive Chef will develop and execute diverse culinary solutions that meet customer and client tastes and expectations. The position involves direct involvement in managing culinary operations with a focus on production, presentation, and service standards in alignment with Aramark’s high-quality food offerings. The role requires ensuring the culinary team meets and maintains established food quality and safety standards.

The Executive Chef will manage and coach kitchen employees to master best practice food production techniques and foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. They are responsible for conducting team meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations while promoting employee engagement and recognition. A critical part of the role is building and maintaining excellent client and guest rapport to enhance business success. The Executive Chef will also track regional culinary trends and ingredient innovations to keep menus relevant and exciting.

Financial acumen is essential for this role, including delivering on food and labor targets, improving margins, and managing inventory and procurement processes effectively. The Executive Chef must ensure compliance with operational excellence fundamentals, food safety protocols, environmental and occupational safety policies, and adherence to legal wage and hour regulations. Expertise in managing supply chains, using authorized suppliers, and maintaining necessary equipment in optimal condition is also required.

Job Requirements

  • Requires at least 4 years of culinary experience
  • At least 2 years in a management role preferred
  • Requires a culinary degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to simplify the agenda for the team
  • Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
  • Includes experiential knowledge required for management of people and/or problems
  • Requires oral, reading, and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Ensure culinary production appropriately connects to the executional framework
  • Ensure proper culinary standards and techniques are in place for preparation of food items including production, presentation, and service standards
  • Manage a culinary team including chef managers and hourly staff to ensure quality in final presentation of food
  • Train and manage culinary and kitchen employees to use best practice food production techniques
  • Coach employees by creating a shared understanding about what needs to be achieved and how it is to be achieved
  • Reward and recognize employees
  • Plan and execute team meetings and daily huddles
