Job Description
Stellar Senior Living is a premier assisted living and memory care provider in the Western United States, dedicated to delivering a stellar quality of life for seniors, their families, and employees. Founded in 2012, the company has experienced consistent growth, expanding its portfolio of senior living communities annually. Stellar Senior Living emphasizes compassionate, respectful care tailored to meet the individual needs of residents, while fostering an inclusive and supportive working environment for its team. The Forum at Tucson, located in Tucson, Arizona, is one such community committed to creating an enriching and comfortable environment where seniors can thrive. This community is part of Stellar Senior Living's larger network, reflecting the company’s focus on excellence and continuous improvement in senior care services.
The Executive Chef position at The Forum at Tucson offers a full-time opportunity with a competitive salary range of $62,920 to $80,080 per year. This role is pivotal in enhancing residents’ daily experiences through exceptional culinary offerings. The Executive Chef is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all culinary operations within the community. This involves creating high-quality menus that accommodate resident preferences and dietary restrictions, ensuring that every meal delivered is nutritious, appealing, and meets the company’s stellar standards. Beyond culinary expertise, the Executive Chef plays a critical leadership role, managing the kitchen team, including sous chefs, cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers, to maintain an efficient and cohesive operation.
In addition to culinary responsibilities, the Executive Chef manages food costs, labor, and inventory to stay within budgetary constraints while fostering positive vendor relationships to ensure a steady supply of quality ingredients. The role demands vigilance in maintaining compliance with all health and safety regulations, as well as adherence to company policies. Close collaboration with the Dining Room Supervisor and Executive Director helps in continuously improving resident satisfaction and dining experiences. Engaging directly with residents and their families to gather feedback allows the Executive Chef to tailor menus to better suit the community’s tastes and needs.
This position is ideal for someone with a culinary degree or equivalent professional experience and at least 3-5 years of progressive leadership in culinary operations. Experience within senior living, healthcare, or high-volume hospitality sectors is highly preferred. A Certified Food Protection Manager credential, such as ServSafe Manager, is mandatory or must be obtained within 30 days of hire. The candidate must demonstrate expertise in managing special diets, preparing meals for large groups, and controlling food costs and labor. Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills are essential to foster a positive kitchen culture and ensure smooth daily operations.
The company culture at Stellar Senior Living supports career growth with opportunities for advancement, ongoing training, tuition reimbursement, and other learning initiatives. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, paid time off, holidays, 401k plans, free meals during shifts, on-demand pay options, and a supportive, inclusive workplace. Committed to equal opportunity employment, Stellar Senior Living promotes a discrimination-free environment that values diversity and inclusion for all employees, residents, and applicants. Joining The Forum at Tucson as an Executive Chef means becoming part of a team dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors through culinary excellence and compassionate care.
