Job Description

This opportunity is with an upscale dining and entertainment destination set to open in 2026 in downtown High Point, North Carolina, a city known for its vibrant culture and expanding hospitality scene. This venue is designed to redefine hospitality in the region by combining elevated culinary experiences with immersive entertainment and polished service excellence. Envisioned as a sleek, modern environment, the destination will host multiple unique hospitality concepts under one roof, including premium seafood offerings, handcrafted cocktails, boutique duckpin bowling, and a virtual reality gaming arena. The culinary philosophy centers on a true scratch kitchen approach, where all menu items are made from scratch, such as hand-cut fries prepared fresh daily, ensuring unmatched quality and freshness across the dining options.

The Executive Chef role is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing culinary operations across all three restaurant concepts operating from one centralized kitchen. This position demands a seasoned culinary leader who brings polished fine dining experience to the table, along with strong operational discipline, and a deep passion for scratch cooking. The Executive Chef will spearhead kitchen operations by driving culinary excellence, maintaining high standards of food execution, and fostering a strong back-of-house culture rooted in professionalism, accountability, and teamwork. This role is highly visible within the organization, requiring a chef who thrives in high-volume, chef-driven environments and understands the critical importance of consistency, presentation, systems, and delivering an outstanding guest experience.

Candidates with Michelin-starred or Michelin-recognized restaurant experience are highly preferred, as the project emphasizes culinary sophistication and innovation. The Executive Chef is expected to balance creative culinary vision with operational execution, inspire and mentor the kitchen team, and uphold exceptional standards across multiple dining experiences within this multi-concept hospitality venue. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the Southeast's most ambitious hospitality projects, lead the development and elevation of culinary programs, and build a cultured, motivated kitchen team. Reporting relationships include collaboration with ownership and operational leadership to ensure successful food and beverage delivery aligned with the brand's vision and standards.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of executive chef or senior culinary leadership experience in polished upscale or fine dining environments
  • Strong scratch kitchen experience required
  • Experience overseeing multi-concept or high-volume culinary operations preferred
  • High-end seafood and raw bar experience strongly preferred
  • Michelin-starred or Michelin-recognized restaurant experience is a major plus
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in food costing, labor management, and operational systems
  • Ability to lead and inspire large culinary teams while maintaining high standards
  • Passion for hospitality, mentorship, and guest experience
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-expectation opening environment

Job Duties

  • Oversee daily culinary operations for Jungle Bar, Umbo, and Siren Lounge from one centralized kitchen
  • Lead, mentor, and develop BOH leadership teams, line cooks, prep cooks, and culinary staff
  • Ensure all food is executed to the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation
  • Manage inventory, purchasing, food cost controls, and labor budgets
  • Collaborate with ownership and operations leadership on menu development and seasonal offerings
  • Maintain strict sanitation, food safety, and kitchen cleanliness standards
  • Drive a positive and professional kitchen culture focused on accountability and teamwork
  • Coordinate prep, service, and execution across multiple concepts in a fast-paced environment
  • Train and coach staff on scratch cooking techniques and refined plating standards
  • Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management initiatives
