Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of senior culinary leadership experience as an executive chef in respected restaurants and boutique properties or 4+ years as a chef de cuisine or executive sous chef leading a high volume operation
  • Boutique hotel luxury hotel or Forbes starred experience
  • Background in restaurants required ideally with some acclaim such as James Beard or Michelin
  • Familiarity and/or love for Midwest
  • Experience in managing inventory and cost controls
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
  • Flexibility and adaptability to the property’s needs as they arise
  • Passion for both food and guest satisfaction
  • Flexible schedule including weekends and on holidays

Job Duties

  • Elevate and drive culinary program forward including seasonal menu updates scratch programs and finding unique local purveyors
  • Maintain a positive work environment through effective professional communication with other employees and managers
  • Lead mentor and train a strong team
  • Handle administrative tasks such as ordering inventory scheduling etc
  • Proactively manage costs and labor
  • Ensure best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen
